Are you starving for nutrients?

If you are overweight and are prone to overeat through a constant feeling of hunger, you might just not hungry for food, but your body can really be hungry for essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, oils, proteins and other nutrients that are important for proper body function and healthy.

Worse, if you are already deficient in some nutrients and you try to diet by reducing the amount of food ingested, can kill deficiencies leaving your body no choice but to demand to eat more to give you an appetite powerful that it is unstoppable.

You need to understand that just will not eat for calories for energy. The modern American diet is full of processed foods and nutritionally empty which means they must eat more to get the nutrients the body needs.

One of the reasons why they feel the need for a second and third serving of food is that your body is desperately trying to get smaller amounts of vitamins and minerals scattered food and we will not surrender until he gets what he wants and needs .

If you start adding more nutrient-rich foods to your diet and maybe add some form of supplements, you will begin to meet the nutritional needs of your body and you feel less hungry and more likely to eat only what your body needs in terms of calorie needs for your body weight can return to a normal level.

Eating better will help you avoid the “hunger stress” that give us these cravings to overeat and overindulge.

So how are nutrient poor Americans? Researchers at the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion said that only a dismal 10% of the U.S. population had an adequate diet, while 16% were rated as having a poor diet, which increased the risk of health problems. Also, unfortunately, 74% had inadequate intake of nutrients.

Want to know what the top 10 are nutrient deficiencies? Son of fiber, Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFA), vitamin D, magnesium, calcium, B vitamins, selenium, zinc and chromium.

We should also note that many people are deficient in certain amino acids (proteins). Although most people eat enough protein, it is usually cooked or processed which means that certain amino acids have been damaged or destroyed, leaving only “partial” protein.

It would be a good idea to seek and investigate the nutrient content of foods you eat during the week and see if there is potential for any deficiency. If there is, you can then start adding to your diet foods that are rich in a particular nutrient or find a way to supplement your health food store.

Fruit and vegetables themselves lower in nutrients than they were several decades of overharvesting, it is advisable to supplement with vitamins and minerals as a precaution.
The solution for permanent weight loss is to add certain key nutrients with each meal to allow you to feel more satisfied without having to overeat. We recommend using the new fail-proof diet from The Weight Loss Grail.

In my view, intensity is the most critical aspect of any exercise regime and can mean the difference between someone who reaches their goals and someone who doesn’t. Increasing your workout’s intensity will stimulate your body to burn more calories and induce a greater cardiovascular response. It will also allow you to have a more time efficient workout.

If you are looking to burn fat and become more toned, then increasing your exercise intensity is critical. Many people have the misconception that if you workout at a higher intensity you will no longer be burning fat since you will be in your “cardio zone”. Whereas, if you keep your intensity low for a longer duration you will burn more fat since you will be in your “fat burning zone”.

Let me clarify this for you once and for all. By training at a low intensity (<70% max) it is true that you use fat as your predominant source of fuel. While exercising at a higher intensity (>75% max) your main fuel source is carbohydrate but you will ultimately burn more calories. And since 1 pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories, the ultimate goal is to burn as many calories as possible to create a negative energy balance!

One of the best ways to achieve this intensity is through the use of full-body exercises (circuit training set up) in conjunction with interval training. The benefit of full body exercises is that they utilize more muscle in any given movement – thus, you burn more calories. The inherent intensity of the workout also means that each exercise becomes more challenging as your heart rate is sustained at a much higher level as a result of not giving yourself enough rest between exercises.

Here are a couple of benefits to following an exercise program combining circuit training and interval training:

1. Intervals and circuits vastly reduce boredom. Traditional steady state cardio training and/or weight lifting can become quite boring. Interval training and circuit training offer more variety and excitement to your workouts.

2. Interval training increases post-exercise energy expenditure (calories burned following exercise) more than steady-state exercise, which means that more fat is burned. After intense exercise, the body needs extra calories as it works to repair muscles, replace energy stores (i.e. carbohydrate) and restore the body to its normal state (e.g. reduce heart rate).

As this can take many hours, you will keep on burning more calories long after the workout is over. In fact, research shows that metabolic rate is higher for several hours following interval training compared to steady state exercise.

3. Interval training burns more calories. As an example, 30 minutes on an Elliptical machine using a steady state program will burn roughly 292 calories, whereas 30 minutes of intervals will burn approximately 584 calories!

Here is a sample circuit traing workout that will leave you huffing and puffing:

WARM-UP – bike, treadmill, elliptical, rower + dynamic stretching (5-10 min)

CIRCUIT (45 seconds for each exercise, with 15 seconds rest between exercises :: 5-7 min to complete 1 set)

Lunge walks with lateral raises

Plank (on stability ball)

Squats with medicine ball shoulder press

Push-ups

Side Bridges

Reverse Pull-ups

Burpies

INTERVAL TRAINING (cardio machine)

20 sec @ 100% : 40 sec @ 70% x 5 = 5 min

Repeat Circuit and Interval 3 times

Total Workout Time: 45 – 50 min

Do this workout 4 times over the next 2 weeks and watch the difference intensity brings to your workouts – and your results!

The danger of low carb diets

Low carb diets are really large right currently in the dieting world. Although they can make you lose weight very speedily they have their drawbacks and even health hazards. Some of the most well-liked low carb diets on the market today are the Atkins Diet, The South Beach Diet and the Sonoma Diet.

We will look into the potential problems with these diets below as they are effects you need to consider before you decide to jump on the low carb bandwagon.

1. Low carb diets will reduce the body of it’s glycogen stores (a type of body fuel).

When these glycogen stores are depleted they cause you to dehydrate. This will give you the impression that you are losing body fat, but you are truly losing is the bodies important water that will need to be replaced finally. This is what makes the scales drop so quickly at the beginning with these types of diets.

When your glycogen levels are truly low, there is a lesser total of fuel existing for your body to perform it’s functions, which can leave you feeling tired, exhausted and miserable for the time of the diet. When you feel a reduced quantity of active you are a lesser total of likely to want to train or be active which limits the quantity of calories you burn.

The problem with lowered glycogen levels also can guide to a defeat of muscle tissue. Your muscles need glycogen for products and movement. You will of course want to use your muscles a reduced amount of because you will feel that you just don’t have the energy to do anything.

This lack of muscle use will slowly cause the muscles to break down and lose their tone. Your body will also actually start to use protein from muscle tissue as fuel when there is little glucose available. This process is known as “Catabolism” and it is when the body breaks down protein in the body rather than creating it.

2. The majority of people will re-gain all of the lost weight on low carb diets.

A high percentage of people will re-gain all their weight lost despite of the kind of diet they chose, but that proportion is even higher for people on low carb diets.

This is due to mostly three effects. You have lost lean muscle tissue that causes a slower metabolism generally. Muscles burn calories for fuel and so the additional muscle you have, the more calories you will burn during the day. If you go back to how you ate in the past you started dieting, you will in fact put on weight much quicker than you did before.

Then, as you begin to consume carbs again, your body will bit by bit start to re-gain it’s lost fluids. Even though it’s not fat tissue, it can bring the scales back to where they started in the past the diet leaving you frustrated.

Last of all, these types of diets are actually complicated to maintain for the long-term. It would take an extreme quantity of will-power to allow yourself to feel so miserable for more than a few weeks let alone several months.

The solution for permanent weight loss is to not only consume enough carbs with each meal but to also consume the right kinds of carbs to preserve your lean muscle tissue and speed up your metabolism. We recommend using the new fail-proof diet from The Weight Loss Grail.

The danger of low calories diets

One of the most common mistakes to lose weight is to drastically reduce the amount of calories they consume.

People are thinking that if they dropped a lot of calories, the body will be forced to take body fat and use it to produce energy. Then all you do is eat almost any food for weeks and ready! you will have a new slim body. Wrong.

It would be nice if that is how weight loss really worked, but it is not. First, cutting calories too much can actually be very dangerous and unhealthy. One reason is that you can deprive your body of essential nutrients it needs to function properly which can lead to chronic deficiencies and problems associated with them.

Other problems that can occur are imbalances in the minerals that control the balance of certain fluids in the body that allow the muscles and nerves to function properly. Furthermore, osteoporosis is another danger, especially for women. Dairy products like milk, cheese and eggs are generally cut from diets low in calories that can lead to severe calcium deficiency leading to bone loss.

What also happens is that if you reduce too many calories for a few days, your metabolism will slow down significantly which means that your body will adjust so that it can function with fewer calories. You will end up burning calories and much less during the day and the weight loss that makes it even more difficult.

Not only will your metabolism slow down, but you will have less energy, feel tired and depressed and your body will also begin to break down muscle and bone tissue to feed itself instead of burning their sources of fat, because muscle tissue burns calories, so the less muscle you have fewer calories than you need.

Your body does not know it just wants to lose weight, believes there is a food shortage or famine and will do everything possible to ensure that they survive as long as possible.

When you start eating normally, the body will burn calories at a slower pace than before starting the diet because they have less muscle mass and your body will not be rich yet sure how long food will be available.

The failure rate of such diets are very high, up to 95% as stated by some researchers. Reduced-calorie diets also create what is known as the “Yo-Yo” effect of diet.

To compensate for the lack of food in the diet when you start eating normally again, the appetite grows by eating more than usual that eventually you will put back all the weight lost while dieting. Many people also experience a real increase in weight of several months after a diet because of this yo-yo.

The solution for permanent weight loss is not only consume enough calories every day, but to consume the right kind of calories to preserve lean muscle mass. We recommend using the new fail-proof diet from The Weight Loss Grail.

Does free dieting works?

You probably have seen hundreds of fat-free foods at your local grocery store. Low-Fat and Fat-Free products seem to be everywhere and almost all popular food items come in a low-fat version.

So do low-fat foods equal greater weight loss? The answer you will find, is not so simple as you are about to find out.

Contrary to popular belief, substituting an equal amount of fat calories for carb calories does not always lead to a loss of weight. Most of the time, the food manufacturers don’t tell you, that although their product may contain little to no fat, they do contain a high amount of sugars (carbs).

Although a gram of fat really includes more calories than a gram of carbohydrates, if you eat enough carbs then you are still going to put on weight or have trouble losing it.

It has been shown that a person’s perception of what they think is a regular portion of food, can sometimes be skewed when they are given low-fat alternatives. People tend to feel less guilty when they eat theses foods and so they are more likely to overindulge and overeat.

Fat has been made the bad guy when it comes to weight loss and yet, there has been now for a while strong evidence to suggest that the dangers of dietary fat may have been greatly exaggerated.

The evidence suggests the opposite, that such diets are unhealthy. They can raise the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer as well as certain psychological disorders such as depression and schizophrenia.

A recent major study found out , that low fat diets didn’t protect women against breast cancer, strokes, colon cancer or heart attacks which contradicts what was once promoted as the cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle.

According to Jacques Rossouw, from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute that provided the funds for the study said, “Based on our findings, we cannot recommend that most women should follow a low-fat diet.”

Believe it or not, some fats are healthy and essential for normal health. They are essential for things like protecting the nerves and internal organs from damage, brain, lung function, eye and important immune system functions

Some essential fatty acids are also essential for the production of certain hormones in the body. Some nutritionists recommend that people who have eaten low fat diets for many weeks or longer without any weight loss get tested for EFA deficiencies and they should start eating certain foods to correct them if present.

The solution for permanent weight loss is to not only consume enough fat calories but to consume the right kinds of fat. We recommend using the new fail-proof diet from The Weight Loss Grail.

Meal Flipping

There are three main meals that almost families enjoy. They include breakfast, lunch and dinner. For most of the people, these meals are generally set in stone.

Normally the breakfast is small and light, the lunch is mid sized and the dinner is the largest of the three meals. Most of the people do not realize, that this way of eating is not the best if you are trying to lose excess body weight.

When we wake up, we are in negative calorie territory. There has been many hours of fasting, that’s why our first meal of the day is called breakfast.

Breakfast is the meal that has the longest amount of active hours to be used as fuel rather than for fat storage on the body. Unfortunately it is the smallest meal for the most people with a busy lifestyle. Dinner is normally the largest meal of the day, because we have more time to sit down and enjoy the meal.

On the downside, our dinners are the meals that end up requiring the most physical activity to burn off, but is placed towards the end of each day when our bodies are least active. So in order to lose more weight, we need to flip this meal programming and eat more sensibly.

To flip meals, you’ll need to begin to prepare and eat the largest meal for breakfast. This meal should contain the most calories. As an example, let’s say your on a diet that consist of consuming 1500 Calories each day.

Your Breakfast can account for around 600 of the total calories. The remaining 900 calories can be used for the remaining two meals and some snacks.

Your lunch would be medium sized and could contain around 400 calories. It’s the last meal of the day where big difference occurs.

For dinner, you should consume a meal of only around 300 calories. This usually would be the same amount of calories in a standard fast breakfast. You see, the day has been completely flipped.

Now we eat the amount of calories for breakfast, that we used to eat before for dinner and vice-versa. The remaining 200 calories can be used for snacking three times during the day.

This method of weightloss is very effective because your calorie requirement is split up into six meals. The largest meal (breakfast) you eat has the longest time to get used up as energy and the smallest ends up requiring the least activity to burn.

There are no overall changes in the food intake, simply a reversal of breakfast and dinner.

The change in your life that will lead to prolonged weight loss will require a change in your thoughts, rather than a change to the foods you eat.

By eating the largest amount of calories at the first meal and eating as many as six meals daily, your body will work more efficiently to burn off all those eaten calories.

The solution for permanent weight loss is to consume the right types of foods with each meal while also increasing the amount of meals you eat each day to speed up your metabolism. We recommend using the new fail-proof diet from The Weight Loss Grail.
