Dr. Chelsea Axe is sharing her nutrition plan for weight loss. A lot of people have the mind set that they will only consume a few hundred calories a day to lose weight. However, restricting your calories can also slow your metabolism and may cause you to binge eat later.

Instead of restricting your body of calories, consume lots of high quality food like fruits and vegetables so your body will receive more vitamins and nutrients. Even if you’re consuming the same amount of calories, your body reacts to foods completely differently. With the mindset of eating real foods, focus on choosing fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, lean healthy meats with healthy fats, which contain CLA, increasing your fat burning potential.

Looking at calories as energy to burn fat and lose weight will allow you to get to the ideal weight you’ve always wanted. By piling your plate with real foods, your body can use these healthy choices to allow your metabolism to soar.

Plate percentage:
40%= vegetables
30% = protein
30% = healthy fats and complex carbs
